Advocates for Children of New York

Advocates for Children of New York (AFC) is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting every child’s right to a free, appropriate education across New York. For more than 50 years, AFC has provided families with one‑on‑one guidance and legal advocacy to secure school placements, special education services, language access, and protections from exclusionary discipline. Alongside direct client services, AFC pursues systemic policy, litigation, and communications strategies to advance equity and hold schools and districts accountable. Families, educators, and policymakers rely on AFC for expertise, resources, and strategic advocacy to improve outcomes for students.
