Isn't this just spray-and-pray? Won't I get flagged for applying to everything?
Spray-and-pray is the opposite of what we do. The whole point of our matching is to be picky. We hard-filter every job against your salary floor, location, seniority, and dealbreakers before we ever consider applying. If a job doesn't actually fit what you said you want, we don't apply to it. Other tools blast applications at every job posting that matches a keyword. We only apply when the match is right, which is why our users get callback rates that hold up against manual applying. Volume isn't the goal. Right-fit volume is.
Don't AI resumes get rejected by ATS systems? I've heard hiring managers throw them out.
A few things going on here. "AI resume" usually means one of two things: (a) a resume generated from scratch by ChatGPT, which often sounds robotic and gets flagged, or (b) a resume tailored to a specific job by AI, which is what ApplyBlast does. Those are very different. We don't write your resume from scratch. We take your resume and adjust the wording and keyword emphasis to match each specific job description, so it gets through ATS filters that scan for those exact terms. Your voice, your experience, your accomplishments, just optimized for the role you're applying to. That's what tailoring has always meant. We just do it in seconds instead of hours.
Why should I pay to look for a job when I'm already unemployed?
This is the most common pushback we hear, and it's a real question. Here's our take: a job search costs you money either way. The average search takes months, which is months of lost income while you spend hours every day on LinkedIn and Indeed. It's not writing your story from scratch or making things up about your experience. You set the inputs (your resume, your preferences, your dealbreakers), and the AI works inside those guardrails. You review every application before it gets sent if you want to. The AI is a tool, not a replacement for your judgment.
Do I need a resume to use ApplyBlast?
Nope. If you have one, upload it and we'll work with what you've got, even if it's outdated or you haven't touched it in five years. If you don't have one, or you're not happy with the one you have, we'll build it with you from your work history. Career changers, recent grads, people coming back from a gap, you don't need a polished resume to get started. That's part of what we do.
Can I review applications before they get sent?
Yes. If you don't have auto-apply turned on, ApplyBlast surfaces your top matches and you click apply on the ones you want, so you stay in full control of what goes out. If you turn auto-apply on, we send applications automatically against the preferences you set (salary floor, location, seniority, dealbreakers). Most users start with manual applying for the first week to get a feel for how the matching and tailoring work, then flip on auto-apply once they trust it. You're never locked into one or the other.
Will employers know I used AI to apply?
No. The AI giveaways people worry about are cover letters that sound like every other AI cover letter, and resumes invented from scratch that don't match the person's actual background. We don't do either. ApplyBlast takes your real resume and adjusts the wording and keyword emphasis for each job. The substance is still yours.
