1st Class Electronic Technician

A 1st Class Electronic Technician is responsible for laying out, building, testing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electrical and electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. This role involves collaborating with Electrical Engineers to discuss layout and assembly procedures, developing sketches to clarify design details, and recommending changes to simplify assembly and maintenance. The position requires setting up test apparatus, adjusting and calibrating circuitry, and writing technical reports to describe system operating characteristics and malfunctions. Additionally, the technician checks the functioning of newly installed equipment in vessels and structures to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
