About this role

Varda is looking for an Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics Engineer to support the operation of its current vehicles and develop the next reentry vehicle. The role involves high‑speed CFD and DSMC simulations, wind‑tunnel campaign planning and data reduction, and creating authoritative aero‑heating databases that feed into GNC, TPS sizing, and mission analysis. The engineer will also collaborate across disciplines and lead post‑flight aerodynamic reconstruction.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain aerodynamic and aeroheating databases across full flight envelope
Plan, execute, and reduce data from wind tunnel campaigns and reconcile with CFD predictions
Run high‑fidelity CFD and DSMC simulations and provide inputs for GNC and TPS sizing

Skills

Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering or PhysicsPhD in relevant field
