Springfield Public Schools' Literacy Department is offering professional learning for licensed kindergarten and first-grade educators on structured literacy approaches through Core Learning's Elementary Online Language and Literacy Academy. The course covers evidence-based instruction methods, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, with a focus on supporting diverse learners such as Multilingual Learners and students with dyslexia. Participants engage in self-directed online modules and in-person sessions, receiving course materials and a completion stipend.
