Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA)
The Agricultural Climate Modelling Intern supports greenhouse gas modelling and applied agricultural research activities delivered through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund. The role involves collecting, quality controlling, modelling, analyzing, and interpreting farm operational, soil health, and GHG data to assess the environmental outcomes of agricultural Beneficial Management Practices. Working with various partners, the intern develops and evaluates farm-specific GHG and carbon models using HOLOS and the DNDC model.
Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) is an Ontario-based non-profit membership organization that promotes responsible, economically viable management of soil, water, air and crops. OSCIA helps farmers test, adopt and share optimal production and stewardship practices through on-farm research, extension, workshops and technical resources. It works with local associations across Ontario to connect growers with funding opportunities, practical guidance and peer networks. Farmers and stakeholders join OSCIA to access community-driven knowledge and tools that boost sustainability and productivity.
