About this role

The AI & Data FinOps Lead establishes and scales a new capability within Absa's Chief Data & Applied AI Office to ensure transparency, control, and optimization of AI and data consumption across the organization. This role involves designing dashboards, implementing chargeback models, forecasting costs, and bridging technical execution with commercial acumen to drive value realization. The incumbent serves as the primary interface between the CDAIO and the Cloud FinOps team while mentoring staff on FinOps practices.

Responsibilities

Design and operationalize foundational dashboarding for AI and data consumption visibility.
Implement dynamic chargeback and showback models to allocate costs to business units.
Build workflow automation for accurate and timely cost attribution across systems.
Establish frameworks to track financial impact and unit economics for AI use cases.
Mentor teams on FinOps literacy and enable tooling to understand cost structures.
