This role focuses on evaluating and improving an AI engineer agent named Archie for physical engineering applications. The position involves studying real-world usage, identifying engineering successes and failures, and developing robust evaluation methodologies. The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts, customers, and internal teams to ensure the AI aligns with expert human judgment and real engineering workflows.
P-1 AI is building Archie, an AI engineer agent for the physical world designed to function at the level of a junior mechanical and electrical engineer, with quantitative multiphysics intuition and the ability to use complex engineering tools. The company trains custom AI models using proprietary semi-synthetic training datasets and structured design representations to keep AI models on-task in executing engineering work. P-1 AI is currently working with design partners in data center engineering and expanding to automotive, aerospace & defense, with the goal of placing an Archie on every engineering team at every major industrial company.
