About this role

The AI Security Engineer serves as the organization's subject matter expert at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity within a regulated healthcare environment. This role evaluates AI vendors, establishes secure implementation standards, and provides hands-on guidance to development teams adopting platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry. Operating within the HIPAA landscape, the engineer ensures AI integrations comply with NIST AI RMF, HITRUST, and organizational security policies.

Responsibilities

Lead structured security assessments of AI vendors and platforms prior to adoption
Define and enforce secure-by-default configurations for AI development environments
Maintain the organization's AI Risk Register aligned with NIST AI RMF guidelines
Conduct AI-specific threat modeling and red-team exercises targeting prompt injection
Develop and maintain AI security training curricula for technical and clinical staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science7+ years of progressive experience in information security2+ years in AI/ML security or applied AI technology evaluationHands-on experience with LLM agentic frameworks like LangChain or AutoGenExperience working in a HIPAA-regulated environment
