About this role

The Animal Services Officer monitors compliance with municipal by‑laws related to animal control, noise, licensing, and community standards, and provides humane capture, handling, transportation, and euthanasia of domestic and wildlife species. The role also enforces the Town’s Traffic and Parking by‑law, investigates infractions, prepares court and tribunal documentation, and collaborates with various municipal departments and external agencies.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned areas and respond to animal control and by‑law complaints
Handle, transport, and euthanize domestic and wildlife animals safely
Enforce and administer traffic and parking by‑laws
Investigate by‑law infractions and prepare court and tribunal documentation
Coordinate towing of unauthorized vehicles and collaborate with police and other agencies
