About this role

As the first Applied AI Engineer on Finance, you will build the operating system for Tutor's financial operations, including planning, forecasting, billing, and the close process. This technical role involves writing software to design process flows, automate workflows, and create AI agents to replace spreadsheets. You will embed within the finance team, owning outcomes through technology and treating finance as part of the wider Tutor system. The role requires full visibility into financial processes across the business and collaboration with the forward-deployed AI engineering team.

Responsibilities

Architect and build finance systems including FP&A and forecasting tools
Automate the close process with software and AI agents
Own the usage-to-invoice pipeline and build financial data layer
