Apprentice Investigator

This position is part of a two-year training program where the incumbent receives formal and on-the-job training to prepare cases for client representation and process citizen complaints under close supervision. The role involves conducting field investigations, analyzing information, and preparing reports, with specific caseloads in the Division of Mental Health Advocacy focusing on individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, appointees are eligible for advancement to Investigator 1, Public Defender.
