Apprentice

Under the close supervision of a journeyman or foreman, an apprentice operates, constructs, and maintains substations, switchyards, and associated equipment. The role involves performing electrical, mechanical, or civil work to overhaul, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all apparatus and substation property. Apprentices also conduct inspections, documentation, and utilize specialized testing equipment to ensure system reliability. The position requires working from blueprints and manuals to install and maintain various electrical and mechanical systems within substations and power plants.
