Armed Security Officer

The Senior Armed Security Officer ensures a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff at Sentara Hospitals and Emergency Departments. Responsibilities include monitoring concealed weapon detection systems, patrolling campuses, conducting surveillance, and responding to routine and emergency situations. Officers exercise strict discretion regarding weapon use, utilizing force only during extreme attacks after non-violent options are exhausted.
