Assistant System Operator

The Assistant System Operator is responsible for the daily management and coordination of NYPA's overall operations, including monitoring operational performance and directing the preparation of operating budgets. As a NERC Generation Operator, Transmission Owner, and Transmission Operator, the role involves controlling generation and transmission facilities to maintain the reliability of the Bulk Electric System. The position requires coordinating switching schedules, managing generation reserves, and ensuring compliance with NERC, NPCC, and NYISO requirements.
