Smithfarms Coffee
The Associate Director, Communications develops and leads institutional communications strategies, overseeing publicity, media relations, crisis communications, and content creation for exhibitions, programs, and events. This role collaborates with marketing leadership, manages agency partners, and supports internal communications while guiding a team and managing the communications budget.
Smithfarms is a small, family-operated 5-acre farm located on the slopes of Mauna Loa in South Kona, Hawaii, specializing in growing and selling 100% pure Kona coffee. Bob and Cea Smith hand-farm their land without machinery, hand-picking only ripe coffee cherries and wet-processing them using fresh volcanic aquifer water. Their heirloom Coffea arabica trees, many over 130 years old, are grown sustainably without chemical insecticides, and their coffee is sold directly to consumers.
