The Backend Engineer – AI at A1 is responsible for designing and building backend systems that serve as the control plane for a global consumer AI application, managing models, prompts, and user interactions. This role involves integrating various AI models, developing orchestration pipelines, and ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of APIs across mobile and web clients. Candidates should have over four years of backend engineering experience, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Go, and a strong understanding of AI systems' cost and latency tradeoffs.
