Backend Engineer, Applied Agents (Los Altos)

Cheiron is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build the agent layer and backend systems that power its AI-native operating system for drug programs. The role involves developing agent runtimes, tool-calling infrastructure, and backend services using Python, FastAPI, and Postgres. You will work on vector databases, RAG systems, and data ingestion pipelines to support multi-step tasks in real drug development workflows.
