Redwood Materials
Redwood Materials is seeking a Battery Software & Controls Integration Engineer to architect and integrate software-defined Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) using second-life and new battery assets. The role involves hands-on pack bring-up, reverse engineering proprietary BMS architectures, and validating battery state estimation algorithms to ensure safe, maximum performance. This position requires deep technical expertise in electrochemistry, embedded firmware, and high-voltage hardware to drive grid-scale energy storage solutions.
Redwood Materials is building a domestic stockpile of critical battery materials and deploying large-scale energy storage systems to power data centers and the nation’s grid. The company recovers and refines end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap into battery‑grade materials, helping close the loop on the battery supply chain. By scaling recycling, materials production, and grid-scale storage, Redwood aims to secure resilient U.S. supply chains for electrification while reducing the environmental impact of battery production.
