The BLET Cadet Program for Deputy at Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office hires individuals who have not completed or are in the process of completing Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) to attend the A-B Tech BLET academy as paid employees. Cadets attend an 18-20 week academy while employed by the sheriff’s office and receive health insurance beginning the first day of the month following their start date. Successful completion of BLET is required to become a certified law enforcement officer.
