Blood Subject Matter Expert

The Blood Subject Matter Expert serves as a trusted advisor on critical Department of Defense blood, transfusion, and combat casualty care programs, collaborating with scientists, clinicians, and acquisition professionals to guide the development of lifesaving medical products. This role involves providing top-level technical expertise to support advanced development requirements and managing multiple initiatives within a high-tempo environment. The position requires influencing high-visibility programs from concept through fielding while maintaining current knowledge of industry developments. The expert will act as an integral member of Integrated Product Teams, preparing for and contributing to various meetings and briefings. Additionally, the role involves supporting program document preparation throughout the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and providing expertise in writing various program documentation. The position requires assessing and monitoring risks associated with the development of blood and blood products, communicating findings to leadership. The expert will also review clinical protocols, regulatory applications, and FDA recommendations to ensure technical correctness and compliance.
