Building Inspector

Under general supervision, this position performs skilled work in the inspection of buildings and related structures to enforce life-safety, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, and accessibility codes during various phases of construction. The role involves interpreting and advising the public and contractors on adopted ordinances, reviewing approved plans, and conducting field inspections to ensure compliance with city and state regulations. The inspector is responsible for issuing notices of violation, stop-work orders, and other citations as necessary to maintain safety standards.
