About this role

The Building Official position supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs building and permit inspection functions under the guidance of the Director of Community Development. The role enforces state and local building codes to ensure compliance and provides supervisory leadership to other building staff. This position is responsible for managing the activities of the building and permit inspection teams within Utah County.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher-level degree in Construction Management or a related fieldvalid Combination Inspector License with the State of Utah's Division of Professional LicensingInternational Code Council (ICC) Inspector designation for building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanicalone (1) additional ICC certification, in plan review or as a Certified Building OfficialCertified Building Official designation or have completed at least forty (40) hours of management training from a state-approved training program or from an accredited college
