NSSRA (Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association) is a nonprofit consortium of area park districts that plans and provides recreation programs and services for children and adults with disabilities in the northern suburbs of Chicago. It delivers year‑round adaptive and inclusive programming — therapeutic recreation, social activities, sports, arts, summer camps, and employment and volunteer opportunities — and coordinates transportation and individualized supports. NSSRA partners with local park districts, families, and community organizations to expand access, train staff, and advocate for inclusion. Its programs focus on building independence, social connections, and quality of life for participants.
