About this role
The Certified Surgical First Assist functions as an expanded CST First Assistant in the Operating Room, assisting surgeons with positioning, prepping, draping, hemostasis, wound exposure, and handling sutures under the surgeon's direction. The role may also perform duties as a Surgical Technologist when not first assisting. Registration with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners is required.
