Certified Medical Coder

The Certified Medical Coder is responsible for maintaining and retrieving patient files, performing clerical tasks for medical record maintenance, and ensuring proper reconciliation of discharged records. The role involves preparing, scanning, verifying, and indexing patient records promptly, as well as conducting periodic audits and handling inquiries regarding medical records. Certification as a CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT is required, with a preference for candidates having at least one year of experience in medical records, ideally in long-term care.
