About this role

Leidos is seeking a Chief Engineer with a USCG 4000hp or greater license to support the Overlord Unmanned Surface Vessel (OMUSV) program in Oxnard, CA. The role involves supervising, coordinating, and performing maintenance on the autonomous surface vessel and its propulsion systems, both aboard the vessel and ashore, while working rotating 12‑hour shifts during 28‑day rotations. The position requires close collaboration with US Navy personnel and adherence to safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

Report to USV Master and Port Captain for operations
Perform first‑line maintenance and repairs of USV propulsion system
Supervise scheduled and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems
Coordinate pre‑ and post‑mission craft readiness functions
Participate in Leidos and Government safety programs
