Chief Research Security Officer

The Chief Research Security Officer steers system-wide strategy to manage and protect classified, controlled, and export-controlled research and information for the Texas A&M University System. This role oversees security infrastructure, ensures compliance with federal guidelines like NIST SP 800-171, and serves as the primary security contact with Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and Intelligence Community stakeholders. The position leads a team of approximately 20 personnel and is responsible for developing and maintaining counter-intelligence and insider threat programs.
