Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians
The Siletz Tribal Head Start Program is seeking a Child Development Aide to support a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant preschool experience for 3 and 4-year-old children. This part-time, seasonal role involves assisting classroom staff with daily lesson plans, supervising children, and facilitating their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. The position requires collaboration with families and program staff to promote school readiness and connect families with community resources.
The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI) is the most diverse confederation of Tribes and Bands on a single reservation in the United States, representing Indigenous peoples of Western Oregon with ancestors who spoke 10 different languages. CTSI operates a tribal government providing services to enrolled members including housing, healthcare, education, social services, and natural resources management. The tribe regained federal recognition in 1977 after successfully lobbying Congress to repeal the Western Oregon Termination Act of 1954.
