Shamiri is Africa’s largest youth mental health provider, serving 200,000+ young people with clinically effective, low‑cost care. They train and employ young lay providers (Fellows, typically 18–24) to deliver evidence‑based group interventions in schools and communities using a task‑shifting model. Randomized evaluations report strong outcomes (80%+ no longer meet criteria for depression/anxiety), and the organization has trained ~3,000 providers. Founded in Kenya, Shamiri runs an academy, clinics, and a summit and partners with universities and ministries across Africa to scale youth mental health services.
