About this role

A Cloud & Platform DBA/Database Reliability Engineer responsible for operating, optimising and securing managed and self‑managed databases that support high‑traffic ecommerce platforms. The role spans AWS and GCP (with some hosted/on‑prem systems) and focuses on availability, performance, security/compliance and cost efficiency, especially during peak events. The engineer will collaborate with development, architecture and support teams, participate in on‑call rotations, and help plan migrations between self‑managed and managed services. The position is part of VML’s Enterprise Solutions division supporting large commerce clients.
