The Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA) is a collaborative of foundations with a shared focus on the interdependence of people, tropical forests, and the climate, working to halt and reverse tropical deforestation while advancing the rights and livelihoods of Indigenous, Afro-Descendant, and local forest communities. Through strategic grantmaking and coordination with other funders, CLUA supports civil society organizations across key tropical forest regions — including Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, and Mexico and Central America — to drive collective action on forest protection, justice, and climate resilience. Its core priorities include securing forest communities' land rights, advancing governance and accountability, strengthening movements, shifting financial systems, and improving production and trade practices.
