About this role

This role builds hybrid physics-and-data models and agentic software layers to support drug delivery innovation within Eli Lilly's Product Research & Development organization. The position involves designing, training, and validating scientific machine learning models while engineering LLM-based workflows that automate modeling and simulation tasks for scientists. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure credible, reproducible, and compliant computational tools are deployed to accelerate drug development.

Responsibilities

Design and train scientific machine learning models against simulation and experimental data
Build LLM-based agentic workflows that plan and execute modeling tasks using real solvers
Ensure model credibility and traceability by defining defensible practices and provenance records

Skills

Qualifications

PhD in applied mathematics, computer science, machine learning, computational mechanics or physics, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering, or a related field
