Conductor

This position involves receiving on-the-job training to become a qualified Conductor responsible for operating track switches, coupling and uncoupling cars, and performing duties related to the movement of trains and engines in rail yards and on the main railroad. The role requires receiving, relaying, and acting upon instructions from dispatchers and yardmasters to manage the placement and delivery of railroad cars. The Conductor ensures safe and efficient train operations by interpreting signals and inspecting equipment.
