Conservation: Artist Material Collection Intern

About this role
This summer internship in the Elise S. Haas Conservation Department at SFMOMA focuses on developing and organizing the Artist Material Collection. The intern will work closely with conservation staff to process artist materials related to works in the museum’s permanent collection. Over nine weeks, they will gain exposure to conservation workflows, collections documentation, and storage practices in a large modern and contemporary art museum. The program also includes structured mentorship, cross-departmental presentations, and local educational visits.
