Sq’éwqel (Seabird Island Band) is a First Nations community and governing band based in British Columbia, Canada, that represents the Seabird Island / Stó:lō people. The band’s mission is to promote a healthy, self-sufficient, self-governing, unified and educated community, seeking physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and cultural balance. Seabird Island provides local governance and delivers programs and services in health, education, social supports, cultural revitalization and economic development for its members. The community emphasizes family values, communal pride and respect while supporting members through notices, employment opportunities and events.
