About this role
A Correctional Officer I is an entry-level state correctional position within the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction’s Division of Institutions, assigned to Minimum custody facilities. The position is part of a step pay plan with competitive starting salaries, guaranteed annual increases for NC correctional officer experience, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. New hires attend six weeks of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) with room and board provided, and may be eligible for full-time or part-time schedules with opportunities for progression and statewide transfers.
