About this role

The Curatorial Intern in Photography at SFMOMA supports upcoming exhibitions and collection-based projects within the Photography department. The role centers on researching the relationship between celebrity and 20th- and 21st-century American photography using the museum’s collection and archives. The intern will work with the internal collections database, archival materials, and publications to develop checklists, annotated bibliographies, and short-form interpretive texts. This position also provides exposure to museum workflows, including storage organization, early-stage acquisitions and exhibition planning, and accessions/collections practices.
