The University of Austin (UATX) is an independent higher-education institution in Austin, Texas, offering a tuition-free undergraduate program funded entirely by donors, with merit-based admissions determined solely by standardized test scores. Its curriculum combines a 15-course Great Books core — spanning works from Homer to Tocqueville — with rigorous training in data science, computer science, and AI, delivered through small seminars at a 5:1 student-to-faculty ratio. UATX also offers non-degree programs for high school and college students, accepts no government funding, and positions itself as an alternative to conventional universities through a commitment to academic freedom, open inquiry, and forming civic and entrepreneurial leaders.
