The Diesel Mechanic provides engineering technical services to a business area, repairing, servicing, and maintaining diesel‑hydraulic and electro‑hydraulic vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal equipment utilization. The role involves planning work priorities, completing maintenance schedules, generating accurate reports, and supporting safety and change‑management initiatives within a mining environment.
Implats is one of the world's foremost producers of platinum and associated platinum group metals (PGMs). The Group is structured around six mining operations, refining and processing facilities, and a refining business, Impala Refining Services (IRS), employing more than 66,000 people. Operations are located on the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe, and the Canadian Shield — the most significant PGM-bearing ore bodies in the world.
