About this role

This hands-on technical leadership role is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and reliability of Abbott's enterprise AI Platform, serving as the technical counterpart to the AI Platform Product Manager. The position involves defining reference architectures, building model gateways and GenAI runtimes, and establishing platform engineering practices using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. The role requires leading a growing engineering team while remaining technically hands-on to drive safe and rapid deployment of enterprise GenAI and agentic systems.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve reference architecture for enterprise AI control plane
Design and build model gateway supporting multi-provider routing and cost allocation
Hire coach and develop platform engineering team of 3 to 8 engineers
