About this role
The Director & Associate General Counsel at the National Geographic Society provides organization-wide legal counsel focused on intellectual property, including copyright, trademark, and media law. The role advises content-producing groups and the Communications department, coordinates IP registrations and enforcement domestically and abroad, and supervises rights-clearance and contracting functions. This position reports to the Senior Director & Associate General Counsel and supports strategic, cross-organizational legal matters in support of the Society’s mission.
