About this role

BMO is seeking a Director to lead the Model Risk Management Team in validating Generative and Agentic AI models within their second-line governance function. This pivotal role involves overseeing the model lifecycle, ensuring regulatory alignment, and establishing validation standards for critical enterprise risks. The successful candidate will act as a hands-on technical leader and subject matter expert driving innovation in AI model validation.

Responsibilities

Lead independent validation and challenge of Generative and Agentic AI models
Develop and maintain validation standards for AI model testing and monitoring
Assess AI model risks associated with new business initiatives and third-party engagements
Act as primary contact for regulators on matters related to AI model validation
Drive innovation and application of AI within the Model Risk Management team

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field9+ years of relevant experienceExpert knowledge of evolving AI regulatory requirements
