StoryCorps is a nonprofit oral-history project that records, preserves, and shares conversations between people of diverse backgrounds to capture everyday experiences and build empathy. Through mobile recording booths, community programs, and partnerships with public radio (including an NPR-distributed podcast), StoryCorps collects interviews and broadcasts selected stories. Its growing audio archive—preserved at the Library of Congress—is searchable online and used for education and research. The organization also offers outreach and resources to help communities document and reflect on their own histories.
