About this role

The EHS Specialist leads and executes comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety programs with a primary focus on fire protection within the UTMB Health Life Safety and Environment of Care Compliance group. The role ensures ongoing compliance with NFPA codes and applicable statutes by evaluating new construction projects and existing facility conditions to satisfy Life Safety Code requirements. This position involves proactively identifying fire safety concerns, maintaining reliable fire protection systems, and developing safety training programs to ensure the overall safety of all UTMB facilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety programs with a focus on fire protection
Ensure ongoing compliance with NFPA codes and Life Safety Code requirements for new construction and existing facilities
Develop and present safety training programs and produce compliance reports for Environment of Care reporting
