The Safety Intern supports the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) team at Slate by assisting with workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and regulatory compliance. The role involves maintaining safety records, supporting incident investigations, and participating in the development of safety procedures within a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position offers practical exposure to real-world safety operations and mentorship from experienced safety professionals while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Conduct workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments
Support incident and near-miss investigations
Maintain EHSS records and safety documentation
Assist in developing and updating safety procedures
Coordinate safety training and toolbox talks

Skills

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in degree program in Safety ManagementBasic knowledge of workplace safety principlesOSHA knowledge a plusCPR/First Aid certification
