About this role

The Emergency Psychiatric Technician (EPT) provides direct patient care to individuals in psychiatric crisis under RN supervision, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, performing safety rounds, assisting with specimen collection, vital signs, and crisis interventions, as well as supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under RN supervision
Perform crisis intervention and de‑escalation of combative patients
Collect and process specimens including venipuncture and urine
Conduct vital signs, glucose monitoring, and 12‑lead ECG testing
Maintain therapeutic environment and perform safety rounds
