About this role

The Revenue Cycle Director oversees all aspects of ambulance billing operations, ensuring accurate billing, maximizing reimbursement, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and leading performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end ambulance billing operations including charge entry, coding, claims submission, payment posting, and collections
Monitor key performance indicators such as days in A/R, collection rates, denial rates, and cash flow
Supervise billing, coding, and A/R staff (internal or outsourced vendors)
Partner with EMS leadership, fire departments, and third-party billing vendors in person and virtually
Optimize billing software and electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) integrations

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience managing a revenue cycle teamStrong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid ambulance billing rules and payer requirementsExperience managing A/R, denials, and collectionsExperience with ambulance billing platforms (e.g., ESO, ImageTrend, Zoll)
