The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVIFSC) is the independent regulator responsible for the oversight, supervision and development of the BVI’s financial services sector. It licenses and monitors firms such as banks, insurers, investment and securities businesses, collective investment schemes, and trust and corporate service providers, and enforces anti‑money‑laundering/combating‑financing‑of‑terrorism (AML/CFT) and consumer‑protection standards. The Commission issues guidance, conducts inspections and investigations, maintains regulatory frameworks and registries, and cooperates with international bodies to meet global compliance obligations. Its mission is to promote the integrity, stability and competitiveness of the BVI as an international financial centre while protecting the public and deterring financial crime.
