Engineer II, Manufacturing/Coatings

Support daily production operations and serves as the primary technical resource for coating processes and equipment. Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot process and equipment issues, maintain process stability, and ensure consistent coating quality. Focus on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost through practical process enhancements and continuous improvement efforts. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions to resolve production challenges. Apply knowledge of coating materials and processes, including manual and automated spray systems, robotics, reciprocators, electrostatic spraying, and powder coating technologies. Measure coating and part properties such as viscosity, % solids, adhesion, hardness, lubricity, durability, and wet/dry film thickness to monitor and optimize process performance, ensuring compliance with material and customer specifications. Develop and maintain clear manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications, and support engineering changes. Assist with equipment qualification and process validation activities. Collaborate with Coating and NPI Engineers to transfer new coating processes and products into production.
